With the original King Street Blues in Alexandria, Virginia. After working together for many years for a large national restaurant chain, Ralph, Doug, and Martin decided "We should be doing this on our own!" In 1990 Ralph was the first to roll the dice. He renovated a three story brownstone he found in Old Town Alexandria, VA, just a couple of doors off King Street. With a vision of "Comfort Food with a Southern Accent," all that was lacking was a name. He said "I've found the perfect building in Old Town but I've got the Blues because it's not on King Street." (the main commercial street in Old Town Alexandria.) King Street Blues opened a few months later and has been a hit with the locals and tourists of Old Town ever since. |
